The chronic debunking effort and intentional confusion propagated around the 1948 Aztec UFO incident might be considered a success in terms of keeping it out of general awareness. The Aztec UFO event was chronicled in Frank Scully’s 1950 book titled Behind The Flying Saucers. It was followed by a relentless effort launched by the intel underworld to discredit the author’s sources. Eventually the Aztec UFO incident faded from the public frontburner. The story was revived when William Steinman and Wendelle Stevens published UFO Crash At Aztec: A Well Kept Secret in 1986. However, with this book brought a revival of more debunking, threats and interference.
A year later in 1987 Scott Ramsey starts his investigation into the Aztec UFO event. As a quick reminder the event occurred March 25, 1948, when a silver flying disk was seen wobbling in the air, over the small town, scraping along a cliff then landing on a nearby mesa. Witnesses gathered, the vehicle was intact, dead beings were found inside. The memories are still very clear for some residents.
The crash site is a sparsely populated desert environment of canyons and dry streambeds cutting through sandstone.
In the nearby town of Farmington, Scott and Suzanne met in the late 80s when he was a guest on her local newstalk radio show to talk about the UFO event. The two became friends and shortly after married.
They pooled resources and worked together in documenting interviews of the witnesses who were there at the debris field on that day. Their meticulous work is distilled in the book titled The Aztec UFO Incident: The Case, Evidence, and Elaborate Cover-up of One of the Most Perplexing Crashes in History. The Ramsey’s reside in North Carolina where they have a small organic farm. Scott is a sales manager for Pennsylvania Electrical Insulation. Suzanne is owner of Uncle Scott’s All Natural Root Beer. Their research continues to this day. A third and final book titled It Came to Earth at Aztec, New Mexico Revealed: The Recovery of a UFO is scheduled to be released this year. This book is also co-authored by research companion Dr. Frank Thayer. Thayer is a New Mexico native with impressive experience in journalism.
